Sunday Service - "Alive & Empower: From Resurrection to Renewal" Part 3

In the third part of the "Alive & Empower: From Resurrection to Renewal" series, titled “Living In The Light of The Resurrection,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis reflects on Romans 6:4 and Colossians 3:1-3, which reminds us that as believers we are called to a new life made possible through Christ’s resurrection, so we now can set our mind on all things above. The sermon also references key scriptures such as Luke 9:23, Romans 12:1-2, and 1 John 1:7.

Living in the light of the resurrection calls for a continual transformation of our carnal thinking through daily surrender to Jesus. In the same way, we must shift our mindset with a new focus, as Colossians 3:1–3 instructs: "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

This renewed mindset helps us understand our identity in Christ. Romans 6:4 declares, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Because we believe and walk in the light of the resurrection, we are no longer bound to our old nature but are empowered to walk in the new life Jesus has given us.

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and for reminding us that we are called to be fruitful image bearers and fulfill God’s original design. We can now understand how to be alive and empowered: by denying ourselves and learning to surrender to His will, we become people who bare lasting fruit in His Kingdom Community.
