Sunday Service - "Every Day Belongs to God"
Introducing the new sermon series "Thy Kingdom Come" Part 1: Every Day Belongs to God
In “Every Day Belongs to God: Walking in the Light, Living in His Kingdom,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis reminds us that every day belongs to God. Because Christ is our Light, we can live freely without taking part in darkness.
Psalm 118:24 calls us to rejoice in the day the Lord has made. John 1:1–5 grounds that joy in Jesus, the eternal Word and the Light darkness cannot overcome. Who Christ is shapes how we live: 1 John 1:5–7 declares that God is light and that true fellowship with Him means walking in His light.
Walking in God’s light requires both Christian freedom and spiritual discernment. Colossians 2:16–17 says believers should not be judged over religious observances, whose fulfillment is found in Christ. Romans 14:5–6 likewise allows believers to regard particular days differently while honoring the Lord. Galatians 5:1 calls us to stand firm in Christ’s freedom rather than return to bondage. Christian freedom, then, should be guided by God’s Word—not by fear or convictions others impose.
This freedom points to the greater truth of Christ’s redemption. Ezekiel 18:20 affirms personal accountability for sin and reveals our need for a Redeemer. Galatians 3:13 declares that Christ, through His sacrifice, redeemed us from the law’s curse. Our confidence therefore rests in Him, and we respond by choosing His light over darkness.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for encouraging us to move forward and higher together as fruitful image bearers, faithfully walking in God's light, freedom, and truth.
