Sunday Service - "A Mind to Build" Part 1

Jun 7, 2026    Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis

In part one of "A Mind to Build", titled “From Church Attendance to Kingdom Citizenship,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis explains that the church is more than a place to attend—it is a Kingdom community to which we belong and are called to build. The message is supported by Nehemiah 4:6, Ephesians 2:19–22, 1 Peter 2:9–10, Philippians 3:20, and Exodus 19:5–6.

Nehemiah 4:6 recounts rebuilding the wall in Jerusalem where the people were united by a shared vision and commitment. They did not simply watch the work—they took part in it. In the same way, the Kingdom community advances when we move beyond just attendance and take ownership of our spiritual gifts.

Ultimately, moving from church attendance to Kingdom citizenship requires a shift in mindset. Attendees and visitors ask, "What can I receive?" Citizenship asks, "What can I contribute?" Attendees and visitors observe the work while citizens build and take responsibility for the work being done. However, we cannot build the Kingdom community until we understand our Kingdom identity. 1 Peter 2:9-10 provides the clearest example of our identity in Christ Jesus. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and for reminding us that we are called to be fruitful image bearers. We can now understand how to develop a mind to build as we become people who bare lasting fruit in God’s Kingdom community.
