Sunday Worship - Becoming & Making Disciples: Part 1 "Embrace Our Identity"

Jun 1, 2025    Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis

Matthew 28:18-20 says, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Senior Pastor Travis Tullis encourages us to ask two questions to ourselves: Are you actively participating in the mission to evangelize and strengthen? Are you ready to take steps towards becoming a disciple who makes disciples? The focus scriptures are Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:13, Philippians 2:13, Revelation 19:16, and Acts 1:8.

Jesus has divine authority over all creation, enabling us to do all things through Him by becoming His disciples and making more disciples. But to do so, we must proclaim our faith through baptism, be transformed as new creatures, mature spiritually, teach and apply God’s Word to our lives, and obey His commandments. These things are possible through Jesus Christ, who has delivered us from darkness into His heavenly light. Colossians 1:13 says, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son."

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and reminding us that we must take personal and communal responsibility to become disciples and to make disciples. This means not only growing in our own faith but also supporting and encouraging others in their spiritual journey and collectively working together towards the mission of spreading the Gospel and strengthening the body of Christ.
